I plan to dress nice in either case, but do I wear a suit and tie or a nice dark blue pair of jeans with a nice black button up and charcoal blazer? I don't want to be over dressed or underdressed. This is for a bachelors degree.

**Please no "go naked" remarks.***

honestly, anything you want, but most will be dressed up. I would say something "you'd wear to church". Nothing too fancy though. Dress pants, a dress shirt and maybe a tie. or something equivelant to that.

Don't wear jeans. :( This is a formal event. Wear nice dark slacks and a shirt and tie. Skip the coat unless you know the place you will be for the ceremony is usually freezing.

You are showing honor to the hard work the students have done... and being given an honor as well. Some people's families have come from far away. Dress as if you were going to a job interview. :)

(That comes next. :)

I would wear a tie no matter what. How about very nice jeans a tucked in button down shirt and a tie with nice leather shoes. You will be hot with a suit under it!! Congratulations!! And, Good luck!!

Id go with the more casual look as you described, because if a some friends ask you out afterwards.
To a party or something, I dont think you want to show up in a suit when everyone else is in jeans.

Actually if it was for your Bachelor degree I think you should wear the suit-if it fits okay and isn't uncomfortable to be in.
The blazer would be fine, but suits are expensive and nice and you don't know how long they will fit.
good luck
I hope you graduate 'magne *** laude'-with great praise.

Wear a nice shirt and tie and nice trousers, but omit the suit jacket because you don't want to sweat to death during the graduation ceremony.

Suit and tie...you need to go smart after all this is a big achievement. Well done! At my graduation and others guys have worn suits (though you may want to take of the jacket if its warm inside) and girls smart trousers/skirt and top. Enjoy it!

Depends where you are going afterwards. We dressed nice for ours. New dress for girls, suits for boys or at least a nice shirt and tie.

In my opinion i think guys should dress up, but not to dressy. dress pants with a nice button up shirt with a tie sounds pretty perfect to me....
