If you tore the mirror off and only broke the studs off the mirror you can run 8mm bolts into the plastic and reuse the mirror. You will need to drill out the metal in the door where the mirror mounts to accept the larger bolts. The replacement mirrors are expensive and I've repaired at least 15 vehicles this way to save the customer money. I use 8mm bolts with a 125 thread and with a 25mm length, you may want to use a tap to make it easier to install the larger bolts but I've done it without tapping the holes first at times.
You will only need to remove the triangular plastic mirror inner cover to drill the holes and remount the mirror. If replacing the mirror with a new one you will need to remove the interior door panel to get to the connector for the electric mirror.
