as someone said before she has a lazy eye lid, thats beyond her control.
basically her eye lid doesn't work properly and the eye patch sort of became her trademark
so it's easier to cover it up so the brain isn't confused by the eye with the lid that won't open so well..
it's like put a pencil in front of you eye.. wave it up and down between your fingers.. you'll notice it bends.. which is your brain doing that..as you know in reality it's a straight object.

I think she's blind in one eye or something.
She doesn't have side fringe now, she has a full fringe but wears glasses all the time.

She has a ptosis, which can come and go, so she doesn't always have to wear the patch. And she doesn't need to wear she does it for medical cosmetic reasons.

because she as got Amblyopia (lazy eye). she soesn't wear a patch now though she had surgery and her fringe covers her eye too!
