No, if he/she was going to be born in February or March, then I would say yes. But June is 6 months away! It seems to far don't you think! You're about 2-3 months pregnant and you don't even know what the baby is yet! So I say no. Save your money or buy a gift for someone else! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

There is nothing wrong with buying your baby a gift. It is customary to wait until after the birth. From a historical point of view, the couple had no idea of how the pregnancy would end. It was not unheard of for a child to not survive or for the mother to not survive. Gifts in that situation would yield pain.

Today, the risks are much less though not completely gone. People deal with the emotions and expectations differently because there is more hope. Good luck! Enjoy your child.

Well, it doesn't have to be christmas presents, it could be a birthday or coming home present. When my mom was pregnant each of my siblings got a present nothing too big. Black Friday is a good sale though on the bright side.

buying the unborn baby a present is more for your own satisfaction rather than the baby's.

if it makes you feel better than go ahead.
personally i consider it waste of money.

maybe something little because we never know what can happen and im saying this from personal experiences.its very overwelming and hard to buy things for your baby and then loosing it and your only a few months. i think going all out on gifts for his/her first christmas would be a better idea when he/she is born .......................

best of luck to you ..take lots of care
happy holidays

I could envision an entire line of Hallmark ornaments for the occasion:
"We Wish you a Merry Fetus"
"Deck the Uterine Walls with Boughs of Holly"

:-)

Seriously though, if you have the urge, go with it and have fun doing it!

Definitely not. Should anything go wrong (heaven forbid) then the very memory will be a curse. Buy something for both of you. Things go wrong - never mind, nice thought. Things go well - "It was for us both, even though you were little more than a question on Yahoo"
