I think price plays a major part in less cards being sent for ANY holiday, birthday, etc. Making cards is economical but not everybody has the time or desire to do so. I don't think much is going to change as long as the price of a simple Merry Christmas card is $1.50 and up and the price of sending it is 37 cents!! So to anybody that reads this..Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. There...saved myself some money!!!

Hello Santas Mama, One year I was so broke, I couldn't afford the cards never mind the postage so sent none at all.
Well, the next year, what a difference hardly any cards, expect the usual aunties etc., and later when I discussed this, my friends were pleased I started stopping this ridiculous nonsense. If I want to send a card in August I will and probably throw in a present if I haven't stumped up for a while. They seem happy and so am I. xx Not worth the worry

I think people do send out Christmas cards less than they used to. It is still a tradition that I really like, because it is an acknowledgement to people that you are thinking of them and wishing you well. A lot of the people I send to (about 90 people), I would not be giving a present to, so this just wishes them the best of the season. Hopefully, it makes the receiver feel good, which is my intention in sending them out.

I send out about 25-35 cards every year and always end up with almost as many back. I don't think they're scarce. Some people on my list don't send cards anymore just because it's either too hectic or they can't do it anymore (arthritis, can't see, that sort of thing).

I've sent out lots of snail mail Christmas cards and have been getting quite a few in return.

I don't send them because if someone got one from me there's something heavy involved as I'm such an intense/laid back person so I don't want any but any are nice but if they get one from me there's something coming.......! Mainly good but intense so hang onto your stocking as I'm going to rock your world! I haven't sent one for a couple of years as I'm leaving them alone and everyone I know, knows I love them anyway so i don't need to send them a card. Peace. And Happy Christmas to you all too!

They are a little scarce, but it's early still. People get started later and later each year.
