The point of the inquest is to determine how she died. So what is the point in all the letters between her and Philip, testimony from friends, how long before she died she had a period? It is all irrelevant.
They know she died in a crashed car. Surely that is all that matters. All this is a waste of money, to find what we already know. It was an accident caused by a drunk driver. No murder, no motive, no conspiracy.
I wonder if all this money would be wasted on mere commoners killed by drunk drivers?

Krissy, I feel sorry for Al Fayed. He did also lose a son that night. But the inquest would happen anyway for a death abroad. I fail to see how Philip could murder someone in Paris, while he was in London. And the "murder" required the driver to agree to die too! It can't get any more absurd.

Firebobby, the inquest is not at al Fayed's request, it is normal practice for any sudden death abroad. Of course you and I would not get such a thorough one, but it is ordered by the coroner not by al Fayed.

Al Fayed is a nut who will not let this lie until he "proves" that Prince Phillip ordered James Bond to kill them both in the tunnel with some sort of secret weapon.
I'm bored to death with the whole thing. 10 years and counting..................

Because she was a world figure & famous to boot, the inquest must be done & done thoroughly for in the eyes of the public they could be scrutinized if they don't. No matter what their eventual verdict is, like most famous people who don't die of natural causes: John Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, etc., Diana's death will always be a topic for conspiracy, whether justified or not. It's human nature to demand answers to questions that can only be answered by the victims.

M Fayed Is trying to prove that the hatred/plot was coming from Prince Phillip so, hence the letters, I think we all know what the result of the inquest will come out as, but as to whether its the truth or not, no one will proberbly know for around a 100 years untill the official papers are released

Oh, so you know all this - you have evidence of what you are declaring?
This is why there is an inquest - and rightly so, whatever the outcome it deserves to be done. If your son or daughter was killed in a car 'accident' but there were speculation that all was not well you'd want it investigated to the fullest...would you not? Or wouldn't you think that highly of your children?

Just another of Joe Public paying for the foibles of the rich.
If Al Fayed was so certain that there was a conspiracy theory he should have brought a private case, and paid himself.
