Men value beauty, but more in women that in themselves. Women value beauty, but more in themselves than in other women. Men are always perceiving things differently from women, yet we are the same specie. Why and how?

No, we actually are not poles apart. We all are more alike than many people like to think. It's just that some people like to ascribe personality traits to others based on their preconceived notions of what is appropriate behavior for their gender and don't seem to notice that not all these traits fit everybody exactly. There are a lot of individual differences between the sexes.

We're more alike than we are different...funny thing that so many don't want to admit it. I suspect that men have a harder time admitting they are similar to women...after all, throughout history women have had to settle for second class status. Isn't this perhaps why men make fun of each other if they show emotion, or any other trait that supposedly is "female" in nature? Ironically, those traits are something common to all humans...but for men, it's a "sign of disgrace" to exhibit anything that might be attributed to being "female."

You exaggerate. Everyone notices and in a way values beauty (and non-) in males and females, both visually and in what they say, regardless of if you are m or f.

And there is nothing that all males perceive as blue while females all see it as red. Each individual is more or less unique in his/her views, values, treasures, pet-hates, and preferences.
