Does your doctor close his eyes while,,,,?

Question

I noticed today during my yearly feminine exam that when my doctor was doing a breast exam, that his eyes were closed. Also when he feels inside me, his eyes are closed. Why do u think he does this?

IS it cause he doesnt want to get turned on? Is it cause he feels he can concentrate better through touch and not looking? IS he just tired of looking at naked woman all day?

When the nurse practictioner does my exams (woman) she starts asking questions about me (down there) and trying to have a conversation and I"m like "What?" so they are like total opposites.

Anyone else had this experience?

oh and once i had a massage from a massage therapist and they had their eyes closed. It kind of freaked me out.

They are trying to feel something not look at something. So by cutting out that sense which is a distraction, they can be more concentrated on what they are feeling for

With your gynecologist I would imagine it is so he can more thoroughly concentrate on what he's feeling. I once had an IV inserted by a technician who did something similar in finding a good vein. It WAS disconcerting, but it was ALSO the best IV insertion I'd ever had (if you CAN have a good one!).

I think your female NP probably is trying to talk to you to put you at ease and keep your mind off of what she's doing. Simple yet classic diversion tactic.

I can't help you with the massage therapist....maybe he/she was bored, or had a headache or something. They certainly don't NEED to see what they're massaging once they've settled on a muscle group.

I think he is concentrating very hard. They "see" with their fingers all the wonderful girl parts we have inside. Perhaps he is trying to do a good job,and closing his eyes opens up his sense of touch.
About the massage, that would freak me out too,but then I fall asleep so I wouldn't notice.
Doctors ask questions to help take your mind off of what is going on.

when you lose 1 sense the others become stronger, so by closing his eyes he can better mentally picture the insides of your vagina through touch.
I don't think it's to keep from getting turned on because guys can def get turned on just from the feel and (healthy) scent of a vagina, if they couldn't girls wouldn't be able to demand the lights be off for sex cause the guy wouldn't be able to perform.

Sounds like he is just trying to concentrate better. I do that sometimes or i just look away to better focus on the touch sense.

My doctor does the same thing. It helps them focus more of their sensory perception on what they are feeling if they get rid of another sense, like closing their eyes.

its like all the other answers...when someone closes their eyes they are trying to consentrate on what they are feeling...making sure you don't have cists or like me fibroid tumers in the uterus...its normal...same way on the breast....don't worry so much not every man is a pervert....and chris is just being a typical male....evading personal women talk lol

All I can say is that If I were a crotch doctor, the only reason I would have my eyes closed is if I was havin some kind of fantasy...lol...think about it!

well i concentrate more with my eyes closed. maybe that's what it is. or maybe he is shy or afraid if his eyes are open, women will accuse him of being a pervert.
