How long did you talk to them on Yahoo before exchanging phone #s?
I always found it weird talking on the phone with people you meet on the net.
I don't even have messenger.

I would add a messenger for my contacts..if we continued to talk daily. Ya know? People are people. I know there are crazy people out there but they are everywhere...

Well with my lisp and the stutter when I get nervous, I have found that most of my contacts call me after I send the naked pics with my number attached....but we rarely talk for long and I never get a real date.
Jesus what's wrong with a speech impediment? I can't help it.

Wow, some of these people need to live a little and lighten up! I mean you just have to be smart about it, it's not like you're gonna post your number in a question for the world to see. My second contact when I first started here asked me for my number and I gave it to her easy cause she is a woman. We had talked lots on IM and I felt ok with it. We still talk on the phone maybe once a week and she is awesome! I gave it to my next contact in a drunken moment of weakness lmao! We talked on the phone a couple of times and it was ummm lots of fun lol... But we had talked on IM lots first too. I've actually talked to several of my contacts from here on the phone, but never without getting to know them thru IM and email first, it's just a gut feeling I guess. You just know if you can trust them or not, and I haven't had a bad experience yet. The last one I gave my number to, well we were talking several times a day and it's great. This week has been a little weird I guess but usually it's great when we talk. You just have to trust your instincts and be careful.

I used to chat with a few back in the days, and then once in a while actually talk on the phone.
One of them, long enough to get directions to where we were going to meet up, another just a couple times for real, because she started texting me like crazy and burning up minutes...NUT JOB!
I sound like a hick, and even worse today with a sinus infection.
Usually chatted quite a while before meeting up or calling. It just seemed easier to "type" instead of "talk" to most of them.
Not from Y!A, but yahoo chat friends...I don't know these people that well yet.

Ohhh, well, I find it most entertaining! I only talk to one and it's super good!!! We talked for about two weeks and then swapped phone numbers....it had to be done, ya ken? We have spoken every single day since then.
What's the difference with exchanging phone numbers with some stranger you meet in a bar or anywhere else? They could do the same with your number as the person on the internet could do or be just as dangerous....or not....

I talk w/one of my contacts everynight on the phone. I don't know how long we were talking on yahoo first though, he just sent messages saying that he would no longer have any internet access. Do it was the phone or loose a friend. I don't think there's anything weird w/it. people from online are people too. That kinda thing happens everyday.

I usually would wait a week or so and then offer to exchange numbers, if I felt comfortable with it... I personally think its cool to put a voice to a name/face :)
*Also, you can use your "Call" feature on your messenger, and as long as they have a microphone and speakers, you can talk over the net without giving out your actual phone #.*

1,2,3,4,5, 6 of em, all guys. I'm such a cyberslut. Four I consider to be pretty good friends. One I spoke to twice and that was that. Another I spoke to two or three times and that was that. I know one of em in another country increased my phone bill by $50.00 last month, lol, but it was worth it. He's a keeper...

I HAVE done so once. I tend to become attached (purely on a friendly basis, I assure you) to people I've "met" on P&S and IM with around 40 of them. Many on a daily basis.
I admit I was a bit uncomfortable for the 1st few minutes on the phone, but relaxed quickly.
There are simple ways to IM with those you wish to fromY!A WITHOUT opening your IM to the public. Mail me for details if you wish.
Edit: Sorry. That's unecessarily mysterious.
All one need do is send a Y!A mail to whomever you wish to IM with and send in that mail your exact IM ID.

LoL that's pretty funny. Yeah well, I think it's totally weird whenever I've talked to anyone on the net on the phone, that's why I don't give out my number or nothin, if you wanna talk to me you can im me. And that's only if I'm at work, you don't like it then fine, you don't have to talk to me no mo! lol That's how I look at it, and it's kinda freaky when they're like obsessively requesting your # all the time, those ppl....GET BLOCKED! lol
But yeah, totally WEIRD!

No, it's not weird. I have only talked on the phone to one of my contacts. We talked on answers since I started. We have talked several times for a total of about 5hrs. She lives in Australia and I live in Texas. It is really interesting to talk to her and learn about her country.
