My 11 weekold baby girl sleeps really good at night in her crib only waking 1x. During the day I'm trying to get her to sleep in her crib but she usually won't and if she does fall asleep it is a short catnap 30 mins. She is tired and cranky when she wakes. The she naps long is when she is in her car seat. Or stroller. Is it ture that if she is not used to her cribs for daytime naps that as she gets older it will be harder to for her to take naps in her crib. To note I try to put her to sleep drowsy but not fully awake. I'm not for the cry it out method. I don't let her sleep in my arms only once in a while.

Let her sleep wherever she wants. A swing or a bouncy seat might work well. The bouncy seat would be similar to her other favorite places to sleep!! As she gets older, her naps will be reduced in frequency and increased in length so it will probably be easier for her to sleep in her crib then. But honestly, I would not worry about how she's going to sleep in 2 months, let her sleep now so you can sleep or get stuff done. Worry about later later!

My baby wouldn't sleep in her crib at all for naps. I used to put her in her carseat on the floor, or her swing. Sometimes even a folded blanket on the floor.

I don't think it's necessarily true that when they don't sleep in their cribs when they're young, they won't when they're older. My girl is 11 months old now, and I can finally get her to nap in her crib. She hated her crib with a passion when she was a baby. But she moved around alot, so a blanket on the floor was great for her. I was always in the same room, so I could keep an eye on her.

My first child loved taking naps in her swing. I'd put her in there, she'd swing for a while, and then fall asleep for a long time. She slept fine at night in her crib.

My other two really didn't go for the swing method. They just kind of fell asleep wherever ... on the floor, in their crib, in my bed, etc.

I would let your baby nap wherever she will take the longest nap. It's best for you and baby. Good luck!!!

When my daughter was a baby, I made sure that she slept in her crib from 6wks on - day or night. Just keep putting her in the her crib and she will eventually get the message that that is where she is supposed to sleep.

DONT make the mistake of putting her in bed with you - its a habit that is easy learned and SUPER HARD to break.

Good luck.

i let my daughter (5.5 months) nap in my bed, and I nap with her. If I try to put in her her crib for naps, all she does is cry, and it's just easier on me if we nap together.

When my daughter was a baby, she either napped with me in my bed, in my arms, or in the sling.
