only several of them were lost in a house fire years ago. Is there anyway to trace them? or reclaim them or whatever. Such a shame they will be unable to cash them because they don't physically have them. Any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Some bonds are recoverable. If you have the numbers you should be able to look them up on www.treasurydirect.gov/ .

If you don't have records, you are probably out of luck.

Did you claim them on the home-owner's/renter's insurance after the fire?
