Pennies minted at Philadelphia have no mint mark, unlike all other denominations minted at Philadelphia, which have a 'P' mint mark.
I defy all other responders to show me a penny with a 'P' mint mark. Of the above, only Bmwr606 has it right.

There are only 3 current mints that produce the penny - Denver, Philly and San Francisco.

D stands for the Denver Mint
P stands for the Philadelphia Mint

Coin proof sets I believe are made in San Francisco

"blank" = "p" = Philadelphia mint
