security has to do with your firewall and settings...both are as secure as you make it.

Cable is the best....dsl (phone is OK) but cable is faster and more reliable....

The biggest difference is that with cable a lot of people can be on the same segment that you are on. Which can cause delays because of the high traffic. Plus, if people are not careful with security, you can actually see them via the MS network neighborhood

DSL (phone line) is a separate segment that only you are on until it reaches the telco's switch, which then puts you on the backbone.

I've had dial-up, cable and DSL .... CABLE definately wins !!! Is much faster than DSL ... plus nowadays ppl dont use home telephone lines that much but CABLE is a must (for most ppl) so get Cable and it will be a lot cheaper .. than having to pay for a telephone line, DSL plus Cable or Satellite for your TV.

Telephone line internet is more secure but agonizingly slow. Cable internet is very fast and can be secure enough if you use firewalls, antivirus and stuff like that.

Hi... The DSL modem is connected with the phone cord, and the Cable modem is connected with a thicker cord which is connected with your TV.

Definitely Cable Internet is faster...

I hope this helps...

Well technaly dialup is more secure because when you disconnect yuor no longer exposed to the internet, where on cable your allways conected. but while your online they have the same infection possibility. the main differance is the speed of your connection, with cable your connected at much higher speed than dialup.

cable is known as DSL (uk at least) and telephone is ADSL (again atleast in the uk) cable definately has its speed advantages at the moment as the companies have run better "cable" to your house and adsl is using the old style copper cable to its current best use.

thats about my knowledge on adavantages

im sure theres a google search somewhere on DSL vs ADSL
