What would happen if an UFO landed?

Perhaps the alien culture would offer defensive advanced technology such as electronic shields that no conventional weapons can possibly overcome! What if they offered miracle cures for the most debilitating disorders? What if they provided micro assemblers that allowed everyone to build or create whatever they wished from the existing substances already present, so you could fabricate things from thin air! Their technology would appear as magic to people today,much as a cell phone would be perceived by a neanderthal person! How about a power source that doesn't require fuel replenishment but runs full out for generations,and can be safely operated in the palm of your hand yet it has the capacity to run a small city for ages! The possibilities are endless. Unfortunately our culture isn't ready for any of it yet and may never reach that point even in a thousand years or generations! It's so very sad when you think about it!

1. There would be a great deal of press attention with non-stop talking heads who would know just as little as everyone else.
2. Whatever country the UFO landed in, the national authorities would move in to take charge.

3. Other nations, unwilling to allow any single nation to have access to advanced technology would demand equal access to the site.

4. If access were granted things would largely depend on the visitors.

5. If access were not granted, a strong possibility of war would occur. Having one nation achieve access to alien technology would totally change the balance of power in the world, much as the possession of cannon and professional armies led to the western dominance during the renaissance and after. Many nations would consider the use of nuclear weapons to avoid global instability.
