I think it aired on ABC. If my failing memory serves me well, each family wore matching tracksuits in either blue or red. The show was held in a tent or some sort of sporting arena. I've scoured the net and can't find a hint of it.

"Almost Anything Goes" is the mid-Seventies show in question. It had brief runs in prime time and as a kid-oriented Saturday morning version. One infamous Saturday morning episode involved the Brady Bunch kids (with the "Fake Jan" Geri Resch in place of Eve Plumb). The game-show history sites will have more details than what I can post here.

It is uncertain that any episodes of either version currently exist.

[Nickelodeon's "Double Dare" lifted major elements of this show (the obstacle course) and the old-school stunt show "Beat the Clock" (most of the stunts).

It sounds like Double Dare from the 80s/90s. I think I heard somewhere that the version on Nickelodeon in the 80s/90s was a remake of an earlier series. Not sure if it had the same name though.
