AND file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Better yet, take him to small claims court. Or for fun, Judge Judy.

You'll have to file a complaint with the Dept. of Labor in your state... They will investigate and get your money.. It may take 6 months or so, but they will..
What bothers me is that they never had you punch in when you came to work? By law, they have to have some sort of record of your hours worked... You may need witnesses to state that you worked those hours.
Dept. of Labor will contact Dairy Queen and request a review of your file & hours worked..... That won't be fun for them... You'll get your money, but like I said, it may take 6 months or more to be resolved.
I had to file a complaint a few years back for my son... he was owed 10 dollars from a job that refused to pay him... Dept. of Labor got it, but it did take a while.... They go on a first come first serve basis.
I filed mine online, simple and easy. Just takes so long to get your money, but you deserve to have your money, not them. Good luck!

you can file a complaint with wage an hour and see if they will step in and if that fails you need to take him to small claims. the police wont help as its a civil matter but if he had an actually paycheck, not just the fact he didn't turn in your hours, they may scare him enough to give you the check.
good luck...
update =========================
Actually if the home office or payroll is in your home state then they must give you your check that day if its out of state then they have to pay you like any other employee, the 72 hour rule is false.

You tell him that you will take him to small claims court if he won't agree to pay you. As long as you have evidence that u worked ( such as your paper that u have) you can use it against him in a court of law. You can file a lawsuit of being fired for being injuried because by law you should not be fired for being injuried.

Couldn't you call DQ head corporate office and tell them about it - then tell them about your thoughts of contacting the Better Business Bureau? Reputation is everything to them.

Since you were fired...and not laid off...that 'person' who knows labor violations like the back of his hand...has 72 hours to give you your check!
Otherwise...know a lawyer? Legal aide can well do it too!
Tick, tick, tick......
