Cuddle up with a hot cup of coffee, a blanket, my kitties, my husband and a few Christmas movie favorites including A Christmas Story and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

This Xmas Eve I am flying to Rome and having a few sambucas and a chat with the locals. Last Christmas I was in Poland, ate carp and had a fascinating family Christmas Eve before going to the Cathedral in Warsaw and being denounced as a protestant by the local Dominicans. On heading back to the nunnery whre I was staying (sic) found that the nuns had released the rotweillers into the grounds so I could not reach my lodgings. Having prised my hosts off my car, drove around Warsaw and ate and drank in various hostelries before heading into the forest for a kip. 'The woods tonight are dark and deep.' This experience gave a whole new meaning to 'drive me up the Pole'. Makes me feel suddenly sympathetic for Gierek.

Gather the family around, open one present, drink hot cocoa, and read the Christmas story from chapter Luke in the Bible. If ya don't want to read the Bible, then I suggest "The Night Before Christmas", "Together for Kwanzaa" or "Just Enough is Plenty" or any favorite story you like. Lots of hugs and kisses are passed around after the story as the younger ones head off to bed. Wonderful time of the year!

This is my boyfriend and I's first Christmas living together. We're going to go by his parent's house to exchange gifts and eat a small dinner in the early evening and then head to my mom and sister's house to exchange gifts and have another small dinner. Then we'll come home and spend quality time together. Christmas day we'll open all of our gifts and go to my aunt's house to have dinner with my entire family.

I read my daughter the Night Before Christmas, then we fall asleep in the same bed before Santa comes and visits. After she is finally asleep I sneak downstairs put her gifts under the tree and quietly crawl back into bed. Before I know it, its 6 am and she's jumping all over me to wake up. Then we spend hours opening gifts because I spoil her badly ever since she lost her mother, so its tough for both of us around the holidays.

Normally, my husband and I go around to both our immediate families and have dinner, then (depending where we are), watch kids open thier gifts. When we get home, and it's just me and him, we'll watch some classic Christmas movies in front of a warm fire, and read the Christmas Story in Luke.

This year we will be handing out toys and blankets and coates to shelters and the homeless as well as offering hot cocoa and a chunk of turkey and a bowl of veggies.

then we head to the grandparents house for some family gift opening. and then home to lay out vegan cookies and almond milk for santa.

Then my husband and i will enjoy tea by the fire where the stockings have been stuffed and probably make love. then off to bed for it will be an early morning when our children are excited for the gifts. lol

We go to my Mom's house.. have appetizers, watch Football, eat Lasagne for dinner.. and have a ton of friends and family over.. then we walk up the street later to our huge family bash that my cousins throw every year. I didn't go last year though.. because I just wanted to watch Christmas with the Kranks and drink hot chocolate by the fire.. Best Wishes!

We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve (it's an old tradition that dates back to the night my mother hurriedly had us open gifts so she could head to the hospital and give birth to our brother on Christmas morning!).
