Some people just let it sit and eventually it melts in April or MAy.

Hon, I live in Wisconsin---If I didn't shovel, I wouldn't even be able to get OUTSIDE pretty soon.
I actually have a snowblower for the driveway, though--it is 3 cars wide and 5 cars long!
So we just shovel the deck and walkway.

Well, we shovel and throw ice-melt onto the driveway, sidewalk and a little in the street because we live on a hill and we'll never get into the driveway if we don't. The rest we let melt naturally. It's gonna be cold through Christmas and not much of it will melt, but the sun will melt a small amount on the driveway.

Shovel. If not you create a snow pack on the driveway that can become slippery and eventually turn to ice if conditions are right. Take the time and effort to shovel the snow.

If we ever got that much snow that we actually had to go out and shovel it, our city would be paralyzed anyway and no one would leave their houses until it was gone. Seriously, our school systems close half the time when it rains so we hibernate when it does ever snow!

It really depends on where you live but if we didn't blow out our drive way we'd have to stay in the house all winter. We have already had 2 good sized(20-30 cm) storms this year where we had to get cleaned out.
