Well...I think we all would love to receive gifts.....but many people cant because of lack of money and various other reasons, to most of us December 25th is a happy and cheery day but for some like poverty stricken countries, the homeless, the elderly on their own is the worst day for them...so if i had the choice to make all those people happy for just one day by giving away all my gifts...I'd do it..would you?

I think that if you give a gift thought should be put into it. Even a gift card can be thoughtful as long as it is a favourite place that the person shops at. If you receive a gift you expect the same consideration. Cost only becomes a factor if you are always the one spending quite a bit of money on the gift and the person receiving (can afford) does not return in kind . Gifts come in many different packages including giving someone a helping had. Value is not based on financial.

I would feel just fine. I request every year that no one buy me anything. Tis better to give than receive, and, if I need it, I buy it....if I want it, I buy it, so when christmas comes, I don't have a wish list anyway. Same for my birthday and other gift giving holidays.

This year I requested though, that if people really felt that they had to buy me something, I would like a donation made to local animal shelters. Homless kitties and puppies need more than I do.

It does not feel so good. It will happen this year but Christmas is not about gifts it is a religious Holiday. See it for what it is and not for what you will or will not get.

I'd feel bad but I'd understand if the reason was because of lack of $, plus my present is spending time with family and giving presents most of all! As long as my daughter gets gifts I'm good.

p.s. I'll be helping her open them anyways wont' feel as bad.

Oh forgot I got an early X-mas gift a brand new car!

If I want something bad enough, I should just find a way to buy it myself. With that said, it makes no difference if I get one or not material wise. But it DOES matter if or not I got people to spend the holy day with! Spending it alone is not something I want to do!

As long as I can give my child something, and I need to start getting something for my feline, then I'll be straight. And as long as I'm on my best Christian behavior as possible, because I don't want to disappoint the Lord. Jesus done so much for me, and I'm still heavily in debt with Him!

CHRISTmas is about JESUS.

Don't insult God by living as the pagans do. God hates sin so much that He sent His Son, Jesus to live and die on a cross as payment for your sin and mine, and defeat Satan and death by rising from the grave.

God loves you but commands everyone everywhere to REPENT (stop sinning) and TRUST in JESUS. He has set a day that He will judge the world in righteousness. On Judgement Day, all those who have not repented of all sin will be thrown into the eternal lake of fire with Satan and his angels.

I would have to rethink my strategy for next year..... ;o)

No, as long as I have enough to be able to get my nieces and nephew, brother and sisters, Mom and Dad a little something, I will be totally happy. I know everybody is getting tons of stuff for the baby that I'm expecting and that's even better for me. I'll be happy with our family dinner and church and it's alllll good.

Leeann, you're awsome, I wish more people would give to the pups!

I’d better not get any I don’t have room in the house. I’ve told my family that I give, I don’t receive. However I might consider a round of golf if there wasn’t three feet of snow on the ground.
