Even Filipino singers revive and sing love songs a few decades back like the the songs from Bee Gees, eagles, James Ingram, Chicago, Bread, England Dan and John Ford Coley, etc... They are also being played in the radio stations in the Philippines especially at night.. I was born in 1981 and grew up in the Philippines with the radios playing all these love songs.. My American friends are teasing me about it but I really like the songs... I'm a straight guy with a wife and a kid so I don't have doubts about myself... I also listen to hard rock and R&B but these are my work music.. You think it's weird?

I guess that most Filipinos especially the ones who immigrated to the US during their teens are mostly listening to these kinds of music.. I also listen to Filipino bands like Eraserheads (the original one), The Youth, Grin Department, Side A, Siakol, Put 3 Ska, and many more. I guess that everything just got stuck during my high school days and not a lot of the new ones attracted me... Immigrating to the US after highschool was a big factor...

It does not matter what people think is weird. You continue to listen to whatever your soul desires.
I like listening to the songs of the 70's and 80's.
It remind me so much of my youth days. Also, the Love songs that I did not understand as a younger kid back then is now some my favorite hits today.

Songs like "Turn off the lights" and "Close the door" sung by Teddy Pendergrass. I did not understand what was good about those songs as an 8 Yr. old. Now I understand.

My wife and I need to stop listening to these songs before we have another baby. (smile)

I love to listen to those songs by the Bread, Bee Gees, Cliff Richard, Beach Boys, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, the Monkees...so on and so forth. It's a long list for me. So, whenever I have the time, I always listen to their sons. In fact, I have an assorted CDs of these famous bands/singers that I always listen to.

Nah, it's not weird at all. You are just trying to appreciate fine music. My genre is the 80's, but I love listening to music from the 60's or even the 50's (and I even sing along with my mom).

Btw, I am also a huge fan of England Dan and John Ford Coley.

i was born in 1987 and grew up listening to the groovy music of my funky parents and therefore, the 60's are deeply etched in my memory...yeah, this flower child still swoons to elvis, the beatles, the everlys, the temptations, PPM (peter, paul & mary), simon & garfunkel, the beegees, the beach boys, etc., etc.

No Way, it is totally awesome to know other people like similar music, right now I am all about "the sun ain't gonna shine anymore" by the Walker Brothers, and all my friends are like "what are you listening to?". To which I reply "Good Music".
