I agree with you. It's not as important to me as it is important for living.
If i could go through life without having to fool with it, i'd gladly do it. Just pay for what you need to pay for and save for a rainy day. Live simple while others obsess and you'll be much better off.

I totally agree with you. I have worked over 40 years and earned a little above the average wage throughout that time. Because of the ups and downs of my life. (No different from the average person, I'm sure). I still have a mortgage and usual debts to pay.
I believe if we lived for today and planned for tomorrow we would have less stress in our lives.
Example:
My daughter now 24 years spent most of her life in education. Three years ago she got her degree, since then she has travelled most of the world and is still doing so as we speak. She's never had a "Proper Job". To earn money she works here and there doing odd jobs. She spends what she can afford and is not in debt to anyone. She is a free spirit. She's also seen and done more in her 24 years than many of us has done in a lifetime.
We are conditioned and brainwashed to work, work, work. I believe you are wakening up to that fact.
If you are young and single finish your education and fly the nest. You will only regret it in later life if you don't.
Good Hunting.

It always seems like the amount of money that you have is never enough. I think when you get to the point that you're at, it's just like, "You know what? I'm going to be okay no matter what." So you'll still work hard to make money, but you just won't let it dictate your entire world to you.
Money is important only in that it gives me options. I like to have a few dollars in my pocket because if I start choking in class, I want to know that I can afford to buy a bottle of water from the vending maching. It gives me those sorts of options. But I'm not the type of girl to get her nails done, to have her hair dyed...I do most of what I can on my own at home and don't worry about having the latest in clothing or cars.

Money is not the most important thing in my life.As long as the bills are paid and a roof over the head and food to eat that's quite enough for me.Wish we could live without money as that is the reason why so many people have problems. The necessity of things in life is all that is important.Money is evil and we all need it.lol

Sorry. It just gets worse. No, money isn't that important to me but you have to have it to survive and the more you have the better quality of life you can have. It doens't bring happiness, but a lack of it can sure make you miserable.
I almost envy people living in the 17 and 1800's. Money wasn't such an issue back then. However, those were major tough times.

yea... its like a love hate relationship though
it sucks having to work to get the money and things that you need... but otherwise i don't think anyone would be as appreciative or deserving of the things they have and receive if they didn't work for it in some way...
then again it is very overwelming you are correct.. but i think the ultimate goal is to find a source of income that you truly enjoy so then work and making money isn't so tedious.. and can actually bring some additional joy and satisfaction into your life
so keep on working for that tuition to get that job you love! =)

Money is not the be-all and end-all, but it does give you freedom. I am happy with my books and techi things, nice food, an ageing car, and just enough to stop me worrrying about paying household bills for the rest of my life.....unfortunately, in case of inflation, this means tucking away about a million pounds as security for a rainy day

Having a certain amount of money is important to me, yes. Once I'm at the level where I can live comfortably, money becomes less of an issue.

i agree, it just sucks bc you cant live without money. its not fair that some people cant even enjoy life cus they're constantly working so they will have a place to live and food to eat. things are too expensive these days. i wish we could just relax and enjoy life sometimes.
