Well...my iPod is acting up a bit for a couple of months now. I would charge it and would take it off the hook when it is fully charged. I would then listen to it and turn it off when I'm done. Then the next day I would turn it on again and it would say "Out of Batteries". Can someone tell me what exactly is wrong and what I can do to prevent this from happening in the future?

Well, this may depend on how your charging your ipod. because if your using the computer to charge your ipod that rapidly decreases the ipod battery life.

But using the wall charger spares the life of your ipod battery to last alot longer.

If your using the computer charger, im guessing thats the reason why your battery went dead. same thing happened to me, so i had to buy a new battery and get the wall charger and now it the battery last a long time.

I'va been told that the Ipod batteries are good for only 2 years. You may need new ones.

Your ipod is dead. The battery is messed up now and you may need to take it to a workshop for replacement.. or better, just get a new one.
Happened to me, VERY annoying!

On the top of your iPod there should be a small switch that says 'hold' on one side. If you turn it on while the iPod is on then your screen will be locked. However, if you flick that switch after turning off your iPod, it should fix the problem.

The battery is not holding a charge.
Apple can fix it for you for a charge.
Or, if you have a brainy computer friend, he or she can do it for you by buying a battery on ebay.

you can reset it by plugging it in to your computer, and in itunes, there is an option to reset your ipod. This works for exactly the problem you are having.
