Probably the east as maths and science was discovered first in the east and the west took a few centuries to catch up then passed the east. If the east hadn't got so bogged down in religion it would be surpassing the west in every way.

Of course this belongs in the LGBT section, as nowadays the wise men would come from here.

They were lost on the way, and came too late to help deliver the baby, and gave totally impractical presents, so they were not that wize. My guess is : what is now Irak ?

Most probably from the Middle east as that is where a lot of learning was developing at that time in Astronomy and Mathematics, Science etc.
