mikeario..., liberal churchs are only religious churchs. Therefore, having nothing to do with Christianity. If you ever read the King James Bible, you will that my comment is not base on personal opinion.

Most Evangelicals take the Bible only half-heartily. You should learn were the term Evangelical came from. It's not 100% Bible based. Therefore, they are only religious. That's not to necessary say they are not saved. The problem here is, at some point in time in there Christian life they gave in on some worldly views. So the message they sometime preach is watered down. Especially when it comes to their choices in what they call "the Bible." It's no wonder why so many catholic's proclaim that they gave us the Bible. Because Evangelicals preachers are willing to say that books like the NIV, TNIV, NLT, NASV, RASV, etc. are "good enough". These books were written on the behalf of the vatican, not God. God never used the term good enough. Why, because God never settle for second best. God say in His Word that His Word is pure. Read Psalm 12:6-7 from the King James Bible.

To me "humanism " is the study of humans, their behaviors, strength ///,weaknesses,attributes and vices.
Liberals are hedonists who seek their pleasure and express "concern" that others are unable to enjoy ,express and or demand . Libs argue that every human life has values yet many support abortion Humanism in reality is a term that defines nothing other than the concept that humans are diverse,complex entities capable of great empathy ,kindness as well as deceit and lust..
What defines a liberal is their tendency to be intolerant and desire to force "fix" you or their pet issue of the month.

Liberal has to be placed in context. For example, Evangelical Christians are "Liberal Progressives" from a Christian Church point of view but socially very conservative. For example, evangelicals actually use a form of rock music and not traditional organs in their worship services. So Liberal isn’t really a catch all phase and it can mean different thing in different situations.

A secular humanist believes that left to our own devices we will get better through education but a Christian believes that without God's light in our life we will drift to our dark side. An atheist doesn't believe there are moral boundaries to judge such matters with since there is no being to impose them. They are different even though they appear similar in some areas.
