Hi everyone, i am a 12 year old girl. I want to audition for the school play but i forgot to put my name on the sign up sheet....do you think that if i just go to the auditions, will they let me audition??? Please Answer!!!!!!!!

Definitely go and ask. If they won't make the time to audition you, then either way too many people signed up, or they wouldn't be very nice to rehearse under, anyway.

Okay, here it is from a real life professional actress. In any audition, your best bet is to go to the director as soon as you can, and be honest. Be plain and simple though, don't get panicked. Keep in mind, this person who is doing the play, is doing it for kids like you! They want to teach you guys the joy of theater, they are not there to be mean! If you can't talk to anyone in charge before the time for auditioning, than when you go to do so, Just tell them your name, explain your situation and give it everything you got! Previous advice was good advice, go look up the play. If you have time, read it a couple of times so you are familiar with it. It will give you a big leg up on everyone else. Keep this in mind if you think someone is "Better than you" Talent will always lose to those who are prepared. The better prepared actor will usually get the part. Good luck!

When's the audition? Will they make you do a monologue? Can you research the play?
I ask because you have a better chance of convincing them if you look like you really know your stuff. If the auditions are for public school, you would probably be okay to walk in, but don't bet on it. Find out who is directing and ask them.

I would take a friend (because I always hate doing this by myslef) and ask the person doing the auditions if you can sign up later because you forgot. they should let you--if that doesnt work than go to the auditions but tell the person doing the auditions that you forgot to sign up before you step on the stage!

M360 I have seen alot of your answers and a lot of them sure seem negative. Why dont you just get offline if you arent going to actually help people? That is really cool that you are going to audition for American Idol I dont know anything about it but I would LOVE to audition. Im this age too! In any school, if you don't put yourself on the sign up find out from a friend who did what you have to sing. If there is no song required to sing that you can just pick, then you can go to the auditions.

They should let you audition if there is enough allotted time; you've got nothing to lose by showing up and asking them to squeeze you in. Auditions (tryouts) are for trying; so go ahead and try.

They'll probably let you audition. the list is so they have an idea of how many people are intrested. As long as too many people dont find themselves in the same situation as you're in. GOOD LUCK! and have fun!

You just need to ask the director. I would suggest not waiting until the last minute. Another tip:When you ask try to be nervous (I know it can be hard) you want to show confidence. Break a Leg
