An irregular period means you don't get your period every 28 days. You may get it a little earlier or a little later. You may have regular periods and still not get it every 28 days. Chart your period for a few months. You may find that you get your period every 30 days or every 26 days. If you don't have a regular period and you don't want to get pregnant, then you have to use birth control every time and use it correctly.

My period was VERY irregular (only got it every 4-5 months). It took us a little over a year to actually conceive. But it's definitely possible. One thing I'd recommend is to not even worry about cycles, and charting and all of that - it's added stress, and makes sex more of a chore. Just enjoy each other and let it be natural without even thinking about it. That's when we finally got pregnant; when we stopped trying.

Unless you are ttc or sexually active--than i wouldn't worry about becoming preggo. I am also very irregular & my cycle days are usually between 35-48 days. It's a good thing to try to track your period so you will know your own personal cycle...especially if you plan on having children someday--
Don't sweat it--everyone's periods are different--so don't think you are not normal to have an irregular period--lot's of ladies have them!! Good Luck!
