very few people would prob call him tony- more like tenny. and sully has bad connotations. people will likely either call him by his last name, or sultan. why does his name have to be shortened? it's sultan.
lots of families also have unrelated pet names (they usually appear when the baby starts getting a personality) I know people named Key, hopper (or harper, now that he's older), that's pretty much it for boys actually

Personally, I don't care for Sultan. If she want a different name, why not Powers. My grandson has that name. It is powerful and unique.

Of the names you listed, i like Evan. It is going with your call. possibly: Evan James Evan Michael Evan Scott Evan Thomas do no longer use Jayden; it is too extensive-unfold. he would be certainly one of three or 4 boys in his class with that call.
