I am not sure, you would have to do a lot of research on Insurance Policies for Prisoners before getting one.

You need to actually speak to a lawyer about this. You cannot lie to an insurance company about the status of this person, if you are or are not married and if he a in prison.
The application will be investigated, you will be charged with Insurance Fraud, could be fined and possibly imprisoned for it.
Who would be taking care of your son then?
Please speak to a lawyer for the correct way to proceed with this, it is doubtful that you will be able to get coverage for your sons father; but at least you will be attempting to go about it in the correct way.

I've just got to say this to you. This loser is in prison for life and you still have contact with him? That certainly being a good role model for your son!
He's concerned about his son now? Good grief. You are planning on paying a premium for HIM ?
If you aren't up front about it if you find an insurance company that would go along with this, good luck, it could possibly void it.

i am a state farm agent and the thing is that when you try to get life insurance 1st of all they are gonna want to give him a test for HIV AIDS, drugs so he needs to do those things and i doubt that the prison officals will let him do it! and in the event insurance companies will figure it our that he is in prison because they do a background check and ask for your social security number! dont you wish it was that easy but for every clever tough the insurance companies tough of it years ago so i think the prison is getting to him!

yes they would not pay upon his death once they found out he was in prison. You cannot take out a policy on him unless you have an "interest" in him, IE your his wife or he is your kid. you cant just take out a policy on just anyone and any size policy would require him to have exams and blood work and once they saw he was in prison they would most likely not insure him.

Failure to "not disclose" is "failure by omission." and payment
would be rejected, and you would have paid all that money for
nothing. And prison is a high crime area.
If you hired a lawyer to take him a policy, have him sign it, with
you as co-signer. That way he will be insured, but you will pay.

Be honest about the fact that he is currently in prison. The insurance comapany will find that out whether you tell them or not.

Yes of course. If you keep anything back from the insurer, they could cite it as a reason not to pay out.

they could deny your claim based on the fact that you didn't disclose he was in prison. this could be considered a risk factor.
