Well being as your daughter isn't quite old enough to go see rated R movies on her own, i would take this opportunity to take her to go see a rated R movie...so go ahead be a cool mom and take her to see American Gangster, i promise after seeing this movie she will never want to deal drugs, and she will probably grow up to be something really great like a Veterinarian

I've seen every movie playing in theatres, and my top three choices to bring a 16-year-old to would have to be:
August Rush ("feel good" kind of movie with great actors and beautiful music)
Dan in Real Life (very good storyline, very humorous, big focus on parent-child relationships)
Enchanted (all-around cute musical)
Not really sure what your daughter is into, but I Am Legend is supposed to be good, but it's scary.

If she's 16, then she might like I am Legend with Will Smith.
Failing that, try Enchanted. I know it sounds like a kid's movie, but my 16-year old friend said he loved it after watching it and he doesn't know why lol.
Or The Golden Compass, that movie looks awesome.

Go see "The Golden Compass" because it's a fun, meaningful, family movie. I liked it. The books are better though.

Enchanted. It seems like it would be a childish movie, but I myself enjoyed it. I went and saw it with my college friends...
