I guess I would ask you do define what you mean by feeling alive? And truly alive? How would you know you were truly alive?
This sounds like a question from someone suffering from depression and hopeless despair. Things I experience personally myself. BUT for me the despair and hopelessness are ways of knowing I am alive.
I would think I were no longer existing or alive if I felt nothing. Being numb, indifferent, not caring etc seems worse. Sometimes the "bad" or seemingly negative emotions are a way of knowing you are alive and need to make changes. The misery is often your body and soul's way of trying to get you to make change to HOW you are living.
What does living mean to you anyway? What is it that you are wanting or hoping to feel that you aren't now? What is missing? If you can work out what it is, then you can try to get it.. But if you just have no idea then how can you change it?
How do you WANT to feel? How do you WANT your life to be? What is missing from it now that makes is seem pointless? What small things can you do now to move towards a more rewarding and fulfilling existence?
- Regards

Being alive, but feeling numb, void, cut off and dead inside is truly horrible and not an easy feeling to come out of. But it's worth staying alive, just to find the support to come back to life again! It doesn't always happen over night, but when it does, it's exhilarating and well worth the effort!

to feel alive you have to live. do things that you enjoy. however, life is full of structures. these are rules and regulations. some we agree with and some we don't. sometimes these structures make life not seem worth living. sometimes our own choices becomes to much to handle and then life does not seems worth living. but time is a great healer. if you want to feel a change in your outlook then do introspection and find out what it is that makes you feel this way. once you have identified it you have made the first step and are on the way to happier times. after identification, come up with a plan about how to achieve your goals. there might be setbacks when you pursue these goals but never stop trying. true inner peace comes from learning how to overcome the difficulties in life. good luck and take care of yourself...

It's all in our minds.. that feeling of Peace, joy and 'feeling alive' is our CHOICE!
We choose to feel alive...
I have made that choice and I reflect each day on it.
I live in the moment and appreciate the NOW and that makes me fee alive and well.

The point of living is that you ARE alive. "Feeling" and "being" are not the same thing, but feeling a certain way is part of being. Therefore, you're claim that you do not "feel alive" does not discount the fact that you are alive, which means that the problem is a lack of perspective on your part. If you feel badly about being alive, then you are not looking hard enough at the wonders that being alive offers you.

Because life is a wheel............sometimes on the downturn and sometimes on the upturn. The fact that you live, by definition, means you are alive - even if you can't feel it.

the beauty of life is the unpredictable events that happen when you least expect it, be they good or bad you don't know the future, if you feel totally down then you must seek professional advice, because that's not the way its meant to be.

There are two ways to succeed in life. One is to set yourself a very lofty goal and then strive with all your might until you eventually attain it. The other is to set yourself a very modest target and then glow with false pride once you score your all too predictable bull's-eye. This second option hardly appeals to you. Your standards are high and your aspirations are higher still. You are now trying to accomplish something delicate. You can hardly complain, then, because it is not turning out to be easy!
