Five months is great! Keep it going. You can't see your body repairing itself inside, it happens gradually. Another half a year you should see more results.

I quit smoking 26 years ago, and I still have cravings, so you will always have them. It is how you react when you get a craving. I smoked 2 packs a day, worked as a bartender, my family smoked, and I quit cold turkey. If you don't want to quit, then you won't. You will go back to smoking unless you make up your MIND not to smoke. Stop taking the gum and all the rest of the stuff, cause you are only kidding yourself. It is up to you how you handle this addiction, and don't kid yourself it is an addiction.

I Agree with CR I just stop too, it will be two years in April. I felt better around the fifth month I was using patches, but decided to go cold turkey so maybe you should ween off the gum. Good Luck.

It is awesome you have quit for so long, if you are still using the gum your body is still craving the nicotine, try to wean yourself off of it. Once it is totally out of your system your body won't want it.

If you look at a woman over say thirty ish, they look older sound older and smell like death. If that's not reason to quit I give this the final reason, what about the child who stands over mummy's grave (premature death) explain that to the ones left behind!
