forty three weeks? I had consistently heard a DR could now not permit a pregnant girl move over forty one weeks. I could be extra worried approximately the feasible headaches of sporting a little one for see you later greater than the pitocin and epidural. I've but to peer any riskless information displaying a hyperlink among pitocin administered throughout induction or epidurals and autism. Both of my deliveries had been inducedwith pitocin and I used an epidural. My youngsters aren't autistic.

There are 2 epidurals.
Walking Epidural - They can give you at anytime you are in active labor. You can walk with it due to the low dose.
General Epidural - They are given after 4cm and before 7cm. Most hospitals feel that after 7 cm you go pretty quick and there isn't the time realy for the epidural to be placed and become active before delivery begins.
Enemas are no longer normal practice prior to delivery. FOr the most part the bowel has already been emptied due to the lower intake of foods towards delivery. If you happen to have an "accident" during delivery they are very quick to clean it up. It does happen, but rarely.

Yes you can get an epidural after being induced with pitocen. You have a window between 4 and 8 cm. If you get a nurse that tells you different get the doctor in or ask for the anesthesiologist. Don't take no for an answer. Pitocen makes the whole experience more difficult, it makes the contractions much more painful and that last nurse was a BIT**. Good luck and best wishes!!!!

I was induced with pitocin because I had preeclampsia. I was going to try not to have the epidural, but ended up needing one. So, yes, you can have an epidural with pitocin. Just let your doctors/nurses know when you are there that you want one when the time is right so that you don't get it too early and so that you don't miss your window of opportunity. Good luck!

Your water broke 3 weeks before delivery!?! Honey I find that hard to believe, unless you weren't going to the doctor properly, because you are supposed to deliver that baby within 24 hours, due to high risk of infection. And they can give you an epidural up until you are 8 cm dilated. You never know how long it'll take you to get to 10.
And you can not be induced unless you are at least 2 or 3 cm dilated.

You are NOT allowed to get an epidural after you are about 4-5 cm dialated. Yes you are able to get an epidural after being on pitocin. I was on pitocin for about 4 hours before I got my epidural.
Had my son 8 weeks ago

You do NOT have to be over 8 cm dilated....I was induced with pitocin, and they were going to give me my epidural at 3 cm, but the doc had to go and do an emergency thing, and I ended up waiting till I was 7 cm........but my cousin who just had her baby, was induced with pitocin, and given her epidural at 3 cm...............

Have heard that induced labor is more painful for many women. Just let your doctor and anyone else involved know ahead of time that you want the epidural; they will know when to give it to you. And yes, you can do both.
