I am with you one hundred percent. Shortening words seems to be the thing these days, like Xmas.....Its lazy and bad English, shows lack of imagination and a waste of education, and there is no excuse for it. (Thank you , I enjoyed my rant - good question ! )

OMG, I hate that word with a passion!!! Preggers and Prego, I mean what the hell?!?! Pregnant doesn't even have an "o" in it! Some words shouldn't become slang at all!! I work at an OB/GYN office and we don't even say that! You're getting a star from me.

Wow, I thought I was the only one! I absolutely hate that word! However, "knocked up" is kind of a funny term :-D but really old-fashioned.

I used to hate it but now it doesn't bother me too much. I don't really mind writing it but I don't really actually say it too much.
