Definitely all of the above. They are in denial and they like to rationalize because they are cheap.

Global warming does, in fact, cause increased atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. But increased atmospheric carbon dioxide also causes global warming. This feedback is believed to be a good part of how relatively small changes in solar input could cause comparatively large changes in actual temperatures. Unlike the water vapor feedback (which is also a significant source of warming), the CO2 feedback can also drive change. Water vapor will fall out of the sky as rain/snow/hail/dew/etc, if it gets too cold. So, it can't actually force warming, if you sprayed water vapor in the air in quantity, you'd just temporarily saturate the air. But CO2 will remain in the atmosphere for quite some time (even if individual CO2 molecules are removed fairly rapidly, the carbon cycle means that they will be replaced by others being newly created through respiration, burning, or rot). So, since we are releasing CO2 directly, increasing its atmospheric concentration, we're getting the CO2 "feedback" without other warming initiating it. edit: The terms "global warming" and "climate change" have been used more or less interchangeably all along. Technically, they're slightly different things. Global warming is the temperature increase, climate change is all the things *caused* by the temperature increase (sea levels, current changes, glacial melt, and so on). It's not some sort of gotcha. Not sure about the Little Ice Age, as I'm not a paleoclimatologist. Or, indeed, any sort of climatologist.

A. MERCER:
you've never heard of the Keeling Curve?
(link provided)
the rise of CO2 levels have been measured in our atmosphere has been measured since 1958.
on it's current pace the co2 levels set then break new historical records every 12 months.
the original reason they started to measure the CO2 was to prove that any excess CO2 in the atmosphere would just be absorbed by the OCEAN... but now they're starting to prove that at some point even the ocean reaches maximun absorbtion... and so CO2 is collecting in the atmosphere...because there's nowhere to go...
also... the side effect of this is that the ocean is at all time acidic highs as well.

Straw man argument.
The disagreement is the effect CO2 has on the climate not if we're adding more.
Plants breath CO2 for godssake.
"(a decrease of carbon dioxide concentration to about 60-65% of its current level) would kill 99% of existing plants and undoubtedly eliminate human civilization (carbon dioxide deficit was also the most likely reason for most big life "extinctions" on the planet and will also finally end the Earth life)["

Here is a question. It is easy to measure the amount of carbon dioxide in a given amount of gas. Where are the studies showing that there is more carbon dioxide in our air right now? I have never heard of anyone providing this very easy to obtain evidence. I would love to see a link to a scientific site that shows the study. This would almost be high school science project material.

I believe (A) is the correct answer. They don't know simple arithmatic becuase they leave it to the calculators. Instead they are very good with complex arithmatic and they acutally found precise values becuase that answer cannot be calculated precisely with simple arithmatic especially since its changing ever so slightly. They are too smart to waste their time on the small stuff and too wise to follow someone elses opinion before doin the math
