The so called 'war n drugs' campaigns of the UK and USA Governements make these Countries prime targets for terrorist inspired drug activity.
Pull the carpet out from under the illegal/illicit drugs economy. Licence all substances for pharamaceutical use, pay the Columbian and Afghani farmers a good price for their crop and enable them to be protected under international and domestic law. Destroy the economic hold of Taliban and Cocaine cartels alike by entering into the stream with intelligence rahter than declaring an unwinable war which creates an economically viable market for those with the resources to take the risks and mitigate the possible reactions on themselves.
A sober reflection on the age old interest of humanity in absorbing mind and mood influencing substances would be a step forward from the current (hopeless) adversarial position.
