You really are a fool.
Round our way it's Christmas. We send Christmas cards, give Christmas presents, put up Christmas trees and Christmas decorations, and yes, we have immigrants, too. The Winter Festival is a piece of nonsense that a couple of half-wits came up with and most sensible people ridiculed, but the fascists and the racists leapt on this and tried to use it to divide people. What will you be celebrating on 25th December? Will anyone actually stop you calling it Christmas? No. Don't be daft.
Pigs can be shown in adverts. There is no law against it. Some people might make commercial decisions not to use them, but that's not the law.
We don't automatically give benefits to immigrants, and those that qualify for anything are given a pittance - and that's only if it's not safe to go back to their home country. Some EU nationals can gain some benefits, but that's reciprocated for Brits abroad.
The government has just anounced a reduction in translation services, arguing that they are a disincentive to learn English.
REDMONK: I have never mentioned my location on Y!A.
EDIT: This could get boring. Oh no, I haven't. Show me where. Care to look back through my answers and check that one out?

Oh for f*cks sake, where do you get this crap? It's still bloody Christmas where I live, you can tell by the lemmings running around the shops looking for DSlites. Winter Festival my @rse. If that's the case anywhere, it's a dodgy local council. It's not bloody national policy.
What's the big deal about no pigs on telly? I always thought the Bill was shite in any case. I agree the Jews and the Muslims probably don't give a shite in any case. I can only wonder if anyone has asked them.
Oh, and I wouldn't give some of our natives benefits either. Scrounging little dole junkies, never worked a bloody day in their lives but still heard shouting that the immigrants take all the work.
I do agree some of them should have translators though. I've been on a housing estate in Liverpool, and that sure as hell wasn't English they were speaking. The natives, that is.
Here's the answer.
If you don't like it here, you've got two options.
1. Sod off somewhere else.
2. Vote the next time.
PS If you're British, why's your name got a wee accent over the 'e?' Not terribly British, is it?

You, like us in the United States, maintain our status as a place for all creeds and colors. You, as a Brit, do not need appeasing because you, like most of us, don't actually believe in anything anymore.
The people being appeased, however, still have strong beliefs. I'm sorry, but that's the part of keeping the wheels of harmony going. A little greasing of the cultural wheels. What exactly have you lost over the fact that you can't call it "Christmas" anymore? It's not even a true religious ceremony, because you celebrate it like we do, but commercial thievery and pagan ritual. OK, it's religious if you are a Wiccan or a Druid, maybe.
Now, I will say this about the whole affair, and that is that the reason our nations are so successful and harmonious is that we do not allow these weasels to take over our governments and preach intolerance against the lifestyles of others, which I think a lot of the zealots from the Middle East try to do in both Britain and the US. Now that offends me, and I would tell them in my own mind to go and sod off, but you know what? It costs relatively no one anything to do so. And quite honestly, you have the CoE and you can celebrate your own religious things in your own places if you like. Why does it bother you so much to not thrust your religion into the faces of the Muslims and the Jews?
But, people from Ghana and Romania are nothing like that.

Why? Because we live in a country that has a rapidly growing science-based industry, but we don't have the skills to support it in the future. The reason a lot of kids have no passion for STEM subjects is because they are not encouraged to - they are given the impression that science is a difficult subject for geeks and it has the wrong image, so even people who are interested will pretend they are not, and focus on other, less useful skills, like sport, drama, etc. The government is trying to promote science as something useful, good, exciting and so on, so that those who are interested actually follow it through to A-level and university. They're not trying to trick people into doing science, but are just trying to make people think about it as a real option, rather than say 'no' right away to any idea of studying science or maths.

it's all a load of bah humbug. Labour has always hated eveything we stand for. So, for want of anything better, they have destroyed us.
It seems a good time to mention Christmas, one of the traditions they seek to destroy. Why do we go along with this and accept it as a way to fill the coffers of High St Stores etc? Why don't we say, 'Right, no Christmas, no reason to spend lots of money that we can ill afford?
Perhaps we should make more of birthdays in future, at least the expense is staggered, unless of course they ban birthdays! They do seem to think 'what do they want?' and then ban it.

Your absolutely right, I didn't know where Sceptic lives until recently, he kids us he comes from Scotland, but he mistakenly lead us to a website which suggests he really lives in fairyland and with his sudden Christmas spirit, it might also suggest he has had one to many. He simply has no idea what is happening in our overall community.
The situation is far worse than you suggest, living in Scotland will not protect you, it just means that we in the south are the first to be affected.
The government are doing this to weaken the native population down in order that we are no longer in a position to say we actually are natives. They are actually Ethnic cleansing our Native communities out of existence.

They have become afraid of the rest of the world. , spineless and cowardly..
They are all lawyers lining their pockets as fast as they can before England ceases to be a nation and becomes a second rate state. might as well since we have 3rd rate leader. you know who i mean . the Emperor Brownaparte. ole FEAR-TIE from fife from just down the road from me.
so your statement is correct give it to the invader and kill of your own so you can afford it
they are so afraid of upsetting a Muslim because the EU is mostly Muslim. so the law favours Muslim. you and i have a couple o problems we can't solve, we are WHITE and WE ARE NOT MUSLIM.
So the only people they can bully is the UK citizens because the citizens have allowed it for so long the government knows most don't have the back bone to say stop it.
No one risk's a true and clear word to someone because it is a hate or a race crime.

In fairness Christianity and Christmas is also an import from abroad (The Middle East). Winter Solstice is the traditional "British" festival.

The thing thats really pi**ed me off is the christmas one. Thats absolutely ridiculous, it was in the paper a while back. Not meaning to sound racist or anything, it has really annoyed me, but seriously its our country why should we change it for immigrants. They can celebrate hannukah and ramadan and diwali and what have you and noone has ever publicly complained about those for fear of political correctness.
