I am really not keen on all tabloid gossip or anything and I think there is too much pressure put on celebrities as it is regarding their identity and personal business. But- along with choosing a profession that puts you in the spotlight comes the responsibility of dealing with stupid questions such as these.
That said - I might as well point out the fact that Kelly Clarkson never seems too interested in the boys. Think about it- she says in her interviews that she has never felt deeply about or said 'I love you' to a man. She never has public relationships or is seen with potential romantic companions. In a radio interview she said that she doesn't consider herself to be maternal or want children, and when asked about finding the right husband- she just kind of laughed it off and said something about being too busy with her work to be a homemaker. Apparently it has been rumored that she and close family members have been instructed by her manager to keep her orientation a secret for the sake of her career.

Kevin Spacey is kinda out. He has never 'announced' and he doesn't talk about his bf on TV, but Letterman did get him once. They both laughed it off and Letterman seemed chagrined that he had stepped in it! He didn't mean to, but asking if someone is seeing anybody is a normal talk show question.

As for really deep in the closet, I think Brad Pitt.

I think we have to respect each individuals decision to be out or not. You can never know their reasoning for staying closeted and it might be quite valid. Each person has to make that decision on their own. I've never agreed with outing someone against their will. While I applaud those public figures that find the courage to come out, I also strongly support those that don't. That said, speculating on who might be secretly homosexual only puts more pressure on those that already have enough pressure just being closeted. Give them a break.
