Would you be offended if a Jewish person said "Happy Hannukah' to you ?. . . I'm not Jewish but I'll tell ya I wouldn't be the least bit offended .

Tell me 'Happy Kwanza' and I'll smile and say 'Happy Kwanza to you too' .

Put a sign up in your store that says 'Happy Hannukah' and I'll just say 'more power to ya' .

So for me , this whole BS of 'Holiday Greetings' and the rest of the hypocritical nonsense is just that. . . . . BS.
And although my 'Merry Christmas To You' isn't intended to offend , I really don't care if it does offend .

Answer the titled question and feel free to offer your opinions .. . . . . and do remember to . . . "Have yourself a Merry little Christmas" !!!

I have many Jewish friends and none are offended if someone says Merry Christmas. I would not be offended if some said Happy Hannukah to me. I would simply say it back to them. I despise the politically correct Happy Holidays. In fact, I won't shop anywhere for Christmas that doesn't call it Christmas. You and I think alike.

No, I would not be offended in the least.
This PC stuff is going way too far when store owners or everyday citizens feel compelled to worry if they are offending someone. Well, we do NOT have a right to not be offended in this country! If saying Merry Christmas to someone offends them, then tough toenails!!
And to you my friend, Merry Christmas back at ya and Happy New Year too!!!!

Guess what I will add to that list the stories are coming out London that Muslims are not offended by Christmas decorations.

So why is it that we are so afraid of offending people here with Christmas.

There is a guy I know was in Qatar in the malls there they put up Christmas decorations.

Maybe we need to tell the PC police to take a hike.

Words of joy never offend me, even when I don't engage in the activity. I always find happiness refreshing. So, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, or Happy Holidays. Take your pick because they are all intended with this goal in mind. A sincere hope that you enjoy all the best in this happy time of the year.

No I would not be offended. I was never offended by 'Happy Holidays', either. To me it was an all encompassing Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New year all in one. I don't like things like 'Holiday' Tree instead of 'Christmas' Tree, it was a Christmas tree first and it should stay such. Merry Christmas to all and God bless us everyone.

You might be surprised by this or you might not.
Overall, the majority does not get offended by Merry Christmas, by "In God We Trust" or by the Ten Commandments on the Court House lawn, etc.
Its a minority group that are offended by these things. And that, in itself, is problematic. We are bending over so far to please the minority (I don't mean racial I mean political) that we've lost sight of the rest of the Americans.
In reference to fanaticscary...if no one is offended why do I have to throw a "Holiday Party" at the municipality I work for instead of a "Christmas Party"?

No, not at all.

These people who say they would be offended are simply exposing themselves as having no decency, no fairness and no tolerance or appreciation for their fellow man.

Why should we have to live our lives upon the rules of atheists, agnostics and haters of tradition?

Because they had rotten childhoods and lack spiritual awakening?

No. Thank you, but no.

Btw, when I say Happy Holidays or, Season's Greetings, I am, as the other poster stated, including all 3 holidays in my wishes. It is THE season.

Never think that I am bending to the will of the crazed PC police. I would be willing to die not doing so.

Why should anyone be offended when greeted in such a personal way? It is meant as a good thing, not as an insult or a power struggle. It would be just as stupid to be offended if I wore a Red Sox hat while visiting New York.

AMEN brother. I can't believe how we are letting our American society be watered down. If someone is offended by Christmas or the Christmas celebration, then don't participate. But don't make everyone else have to change the way they celebrate the holiday season because one person is offended. Let the Merry Christmas signs hang proudly!!!

This goes for all of those bleeding hearts who have taken all of the fun out of Halloween too! It is a holiday where you can dress up and get candy, not a devil worship ceremony. If your child's school is having a Halloween party or Christmas party and you don't celebrate that holiday, keep them home that day, don't participate. Don't spoil it for everyone else.

I never would have considered the phrase "Happy Holidays" an attack on Christianity. The fact that someone did and now it equates to some silly War on Christmas is ridiculous. Read your own details and you will see that this is indeed the season of MANY holidays. Being all inclusive is not a bad thing. Our country is diverse and so many people celebrate many different holidays around this time. I celebrate Christmas, but have never taken offense when I've been wished Happy Holidays.
