I am making a fleece blanket as a christmas present but I want to make something more original than the knotted blanket.

There's a GREAT book out...I can't think of the name, but one of the ideas in it was pretty easy (if I can do it, anyone can dot it!!!). You cut 1"-2" slits every few inches (every 1", or 2", or 3", etc.). Then cut a piece of fleece the same length of the blanket and 1/4" less in width of the slits you made. Then just weave it over and under. You can fringe and knot the ends to secure the coordinating strips. Cutting the slits and the strips of fleece are the hardest parts. The weaving is a breeze. Happy Holidays and Merry Crafting!!!!

I would think you could cut one piece of fleece lengthwise in very wide strips, like a foot or 2, and cut the other piece width wise, also in strips of one or 2 feet. Lay out the long pieces in a row and weave the short pieces over & under, and then secure the ends of the weave with fabric glue. Just make sure the fabric glue is washable.

i do no longer undergo in suggestions the measurements for a twin/queen or king length mattress yet once you degree the size blanket you like and upload 9 inches all around it is the size you desire. Pin the blanket aspects mutually (2 products of fabrics pinned to the finished aspects) then you definitely decrease each and every 0.5 inch each and every of ways around and take one from the suitable and one from the backside and knot it mutually. It sounds unusual i understand yet they are super relaxing to make whilst watching television or purely attempting to maintain heat. good success!

I use the stretch wrapped stitch on my serger all around the edges on fleece blankets and large throws.

Try using fusable webbing like Wonder Under. No sewing required.
