Because of the access to so MUCH information, good or bad.

Remember, just because something appears on printed paper, it doesn't mean it is any more reliable than information on the net.

The key is to know the sources and cross check one's references, the same way research was done before the internet. In my work, I may be doing research on many different subject on any given day. I don't have the time to head off to the library everytime I need to look something up. The net give me quick easy references and, often, access to SOURCE material that I may not be able to get searching several library branches.

If I've got to do the legwork, I'd rather let my fingers to most of it.

I would guess somewhere between 3% to 5% of data are false misinformation. When people post false/misleading info, they're often exaggerated claims. If its borderline, where you're thinking "sounds logical, but what if, " then the questionable data can be cross referenced for accuracy by doing a Yahoo, Google, or Ask topic search engine.

No one can know the true and unbiased truth. To know it we must be unbiased and all knowing. We pick what to believe and what to ignore.

The Internet is filled with as much truth and lies as the rest of the world and also like the rest of the world we can find other places other sites to confirm or disprove the information we find.

As for the philosophy category; Philosophy is truth nor lies. It is the sharing of ideas of life and the world. Philosophy is logical and deductive reasoning for questions that have unexplainable answers. Philosophy answers the (what if)s.

The light of God shines even into the darkest of corners. If I can be the herald of His greatness to me it can only be an honor.
