Many many people say it is. I was in Scotland for a mini vacation ( lived in europe for 3 years ), and we took a boat ride on the lake where it is said to live or have lived and it is possible.
I must say that I am one to believe that it used to live but not sure that it still lives today .... .

As real as one can imagine and the human imagination is boundless. But what of the Sasquatch or the Bermuda Triangle. No one can deny that many ships and planes have been lost in the area called "The Devil's Triangle" yet there are people that still insist it doesn't exist. Still undenied are actual photographs of large manlike hairy creatures seen in various locations in the USA and Canada. Hoaxes for individuals to get media coverage? Who really knows? The existence of the supposed Loch Ness Monster has been a question since the beginning of the 20th century perhaps earlier. Perhaps it did exist up to a certain point in time but, if it could not reproduce it may have died since the last photograph taken of it back about 1983. So I submit that I believe Nessie was real.

I for one don't think the Loch Nessie Monster is real but some people say they have seen it. I have never been to Loch Ness lake to search for Nessie myself so I really don't know what to think. They have found very large fish in the lake, but they don't look anything like the long-neck creature at the bottom of the lake. Some searches have tried to find evidence of Nessie but have failed.

The legend is but there is no prehistoric beast living in the Loch, simply not big enough to sustain a pack of them. You would need dozens to keep any hope of disastrous genetic inbreeding effects at bay and the Loch can't handle that load. Most probably a large lake sturgeon that creates the optical illusion of greater size. Keep looking, maybe Tupac and Elvis are in the Loch as well.

i saw a report on discovery channel that investigated the Loch with deep sea scanning equipment and found no organic life that was as large as the Loch Ness Monster. So unless the Monster can change size from the size of a fish to the size of a building, the myth is busted.

not sure, but hey, no one really knows whats out there, you never know, it could be real. This is the same matter as people believing in the Ogopogo, aliens, the Bermuda triangle, the yeti, stuff like that. How can anyone know their real?? If someone did find them, they probably got their brains eaten. XD Who knows, maybe the Bermuda triangle is like this magical island in the middle of the ocean, and the reason people disappear their is because its so awsome they don't want to leave!! =D ya, I know I'm crazy, but hey! isn't the whole point of an imagination- to use it?
Awsome question BTW, =P

If it was I'm sure it would have been proven a long time ago, so I'm going to say its not real.
