The shop I took my car to installed the dimpled/slotted rotors so that they point forward, instead of backwards. I'm pretty sure they're supposed to point to the rear of the car. Will this hurt heat dispersion? The brakes work, I'm just wondering if they're not working as efficiently as possible.

They are on backwards. They should point to the rear of the car. Yes, they are not working as efficiently as possible.

If you're tracking the car, this is a concern, but if this car sees no track time, I wouldn't worry about it.

Rush, I just scoped out a set (pair) of EBC of dimpled and slotted brake rotors. They ( the set ) has the same part # but there's a right and a left rotor. Depending direction of travel the left front rotor should spin with grooved slot close to the hub should fan in an arc outward as the wheel is turning counter clockwise. In other words the start of the slot near the hub should lead the slot as it travels outward toward the rear of the car.

Yes it certainly does matter which way they are installed. Simply put the machined swept slots should always sweep away brake dust and particles toward the outside of the rotor never the other way around. The whole idea of the grooves is to vent hot air out and away from the hub and rotor

I wish I could draw on this site but I can't

The opposite would be true for the right side. The start of the slot toward the hub should lead the slot as it spins clockwise.

Did you purchase the rotors yourself and have the shop install them or did you purchase them through the shop? If you purchased them look for your paperwork/instructions that came with them. If not go back to the shop and ask them. Unless your going to be racing around Laguna Seca or something similar I would not worry about it.

Ask the garage that did the work. Does not sound like a major worry.
