But should they after they were all accused of taking steroids, HGH or having them in there posession?

Should these guys go to the Hall of Fame?

If these guys go to the Hall of Fame, do you think we should let Pete Rose go? I do.

Why do people keep trying to use this as a reason to put Rose in the Hall?

The 2 situations are COMPLETELY unrelated.

Pete Rose bet on baseball, which has ALWAYS been illegal.

Case closed.

why not? The Oakland A's won a world series on Steroids, The Giants went to a World Series powered by Steroids, we can not cvhange the past, just adjust for the future. I would say let them in, but the steroid scandal will be a part of baseball history and certin players names will always be linked to it. I feel bad for some of the players that played the game with more integrity but that is just the way the world works. Look at Iraq, our Military has to follow rules, so we hire "private security firms" to do the dirty work.

If I made $millions, scamming widows out of their pensions and gave $1000 to a Salvation Army Santa Claus, should I get some sort of humanitarian award?
These players would have had fortune and fame without cheating, but that wasn't enough for them. They had to scam us into believing they were more than what they actually were in order satisfy their greed. I see no reason to reward them for their scam.

I totally agree with Kris, stop using this steroid era to justify Rose, who KNOWINGLY BET on baseball, to get into the hall when he doesn't belong.

I will even suggest that Rose himself doesn't want in the HOF either.

In the locker room, where rose spent 4000+ days, there are signs that say "no betting on baseball". The rules are posted, the penalty is of historical fact.
Rose looked at that, and placed that golden rule well below his need for that thrill or a couple of hundred/thousand dollars.

If Rose himself wanted in the HOF, he wouldn't have bet on baseball.

To let him in is like telling the world, as long as you hold some sort of (utterly overblown and over rated) record, you can cheat and get away with little to no consequences.

Even if he had gone to Giamatti and explained and apologized, he may be in there now. But he didn't do that either.

He spent 15 years lying about it until it suited him financially to come forward.

He doesn't want in the HOF, all his actions scream this and I really wish people would open their eyes and see

Gambling is a completely different beast than performance enhancing drugs. Either way, I don't think any of them should go into the Hall.

I would still vote for Barry Bonds for the Hall of Fame. If he goes, more than likely, Clemens goes in.

Now, with Pete Rose... I guess we could LET the guy in, but like every other player with steroids, HGH and all that issue that is inducted into the hall of fame, instead of an * (which in my opinion is a load of crap), they should have a little story. "He did this" or "He did that", "The guy was amazing, but he did this"

yes I think the players who are worthy should get in. I think all this just means we will have to kind of take their career achievements into context especially what they did in their later years. As for Rose, let him in already. He did bet on baseball but y ou're an idiot if you think he was the only one. He's just the one who got caught. And who cares it's not like he threw games or bet on his team to lose.

Most of these guys used steroids when they weren't banned yet. I don't think you can really call that cheating. So in that case I say they should and probably would get in. Pete Rose is different. I feel he should get because of his abilities besides as far as I know he didn't bet against his own team.
