I think a true patriot would stand up and speak out against what is going on. It's ironic that those of us who practice freedom of speech and speak out again wrongs, are considered traitors and not patriotic.

It seems that you have a very biased opinion on Bush supporters. It would be the same as if a Bush supporter said how can you call yourself a patriot when you support policies that would endanger Americans and our way of life?

particularly, in case you particularly understood the subject you're able to see that the Confederacy have been against the Union for good motives. The Union replaced into diverging from the form and abusing the rights of sovereign states. there is extra to the Civil conflict than in simple terms slavery, yet something tells me you don’t understand that. additionally in case you examine the CSA, you're able to see that they saved lots of the problem-loose concepts of the US shape. you are the made of a public college training that needs to color the Civil conflict as though it replaced into basically approximately good VS. undesirable. The North replaced into extremely the aggressors in the Civil conflict. flow carry out a little examining on the loads they killed while they burned and destroyed SC. The North replaced into in simple terms as racist because of the fact the south. in case you think of the North replaced into the ethical ingredient, you're way off. The South had to seceded and be left on my own. The North replaced into the guy who have been going to apply brutal stress to stress the seceded states lower back into the Union. flow examine a historic previous e book. how are you able to call your self a patriot considering which you opt to do away with the 1st replace good of loose speech?

Most conservatives and Republicans have absolutely no problem with criticism of the administration or the President but the rabid Hate Bush campaign that's been in vogue for more than 7 years now is wearing thin. It's apparent in the question posed that it's not an objective question but posed from a political viewpoint so allow me to answer this way: I am a patriotic American. I served my country in the military. I don't agree with everything the President does but I will support the commander in chief. The business of torture is relative isn't it? I suppose that the beheading of American citizens was OK with you? But somehow waterboarding is horrendous torture? The sensation of drowning, while unpleasant, pales in comparison to what Iraqis and Iranians did to our citizens over the last two decades. If your loved one was in danger and waterboarding someone who had knowledge of the danger could avoid their death, you would opt to do what? Nothing? You're not a traitor...the priorities are a bit askew.

because Bush supporters are stupid people. It's a fact. You'll never have an intelligent conversation with someone who supports that clown. These people couldn't define "patriotism" or "family values" or "victory in Iraq", but they will scream about it until the cows come home.

Actually, it's the Bush haters who go around calling themselves great patriots because they are undermining all of Bush's policies. It's the anti-Bushies who feel the need to have to tell people that they're really patriots, and that only people who disagree with the government are patriots.
The reason your patriotism is in question is because you are saying things and supporting policies that support our enemies and make it more difficult for us to find them and stop them from attacking. Democrats have been undermining the US's presence in Iraq, often lying or spreading falsehoods, starting 6 months before we even attacked, and they've not let up since. That's not what I'd consider "patriotic".
As for the claim that we approve of "torture", if you are able to open your mind at all, you might note that there is no consensus in the world regarding whether the aggressive techniques used on some of the illegal combatants detained at Gitmo actually rise to the international definition of turture: to wit, "severe pain or suffering, physical or mental".
Citizens are not spied on randomly without warrant, but only in very specific circumstances, based on very specific information.
So, other than the lies and having to claim yourselves "patriots", what have you to offer us?

Because Americans are to apathetic and jaded when it comes to government that they no longer demand the truth. Instead, they are placated by easy jingles and catchphrases instead of thought and reason. Think of it this way, who wants to take the time and energy investigating who perpetrated 9/11 when we hear "Let's get them over there before they get us over here." Republicans have learned long ago that the electorate is happy when they are ignorant. The Dems are still in last place trying to get the American people to want the truth, much like a mommy trying to get her baby to eat vegetables. Flag wrapping & name calling = Junk Food.
Truth & Reason = Vegetables. Which is more fun to eat?

Don't you think those who are talking to those who want to kill Americans should be watch or do you think that we should wait around for the next terrorist attack than go oops?
How many people should die because we don't want to offend your sense of fair play?
I am not saying those who oppose Bush hate America I do think these are examples of people do make that statement true:

I am for open debate I am not for giving Muslim terrorist a shot at the US again without a fight.

"When fascism ever comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross"
---Sinclair Lewis
After all, even in the 1930s, the conservatives supported Hitler and did everything they could to keep America from entering the war to stop him.
So--their current behavior is simply constitant with their "moral values" and political agenda.
