Set the time and date as it requests...Then use an OEM copy of Windows XP to install a clean OS (recommended).

You will need a minimum of the networking drivers that can be found at the Sony website for your particular system before starting. After the OS and network driver install, you will need to then go back to the Sony website to install any missing drivers (Look in the device manager by right clicking on "My computer" and selecting "Properties" and the going to the "Hardware" tab and finally selecting "Device Manager".

This process isn't easy and will take approximately 4-6 hours to complete if all goes smoothly. You can find more detailed instructions by doing a google search or looking for instructions at PCWorld, PCMag, Hardware Geeks, etc.

When you turn the computer on, there should be a way to enter the BIOS. Usually you enter the BIOS by pressing F2 or DEL. When you are in the BIOS, set the time a date and then save & exit by pressing F10. Thats it. Now you can go ahead and install Windows.
