Yes, the periodic table lists the elements, true.

But those elements are made of atoms. And the smallest atom, Hydrogen, is at the upper left (Group IA) . . . [**and** the upper right on some versions!]

Generally, the left-most side of the table holds atoms that are smaller than others in the same row, and the topmost rows hold atoms that are smaller than any others below them in the same column.

So the correct answer is UPPER LEFT.

Well - this is a very easy question. Which atom/element has the least number of protons, neutrons and electrons? That one will be the smallest. Then look on your periodic table to find out where that atom is written. Not hard - look at your textbook - thats where you are supposed to look when you are doing homework.

upper left - pure hydrogen has the least amount of weight and atoms
