i go on C:\Documents and Settings\My User\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads then i double click on the icons and body shop message goes up with "please-double click on a custom content package file to install the content". please help me as i really don't know how to install it onto the game :(

You will need to unzip them first into the Downloads folder, which I assume you know.
If the file has the extension .sims2pack - those files need to be double clicked and installed. If they have the extension .package (which is how most files come from modthesims2), you just leave them in the Downloads folder; they will load with your game.

I suggest using QXpress if you're an inexperienced downloader or even if you just want to simplify the process. QXpress extracts your downloaded things for you and places them into the Downloads folder saving you some time. You can download QXpress here
