not testifying? Is this dealt with under a Magistrate's Court? In the UK.

this offence can only be tried in crown court and in some cases it may even be sent to the Old Bailey for trial the maximum penalty is life imprisonment. you will only get sent to the Old Bailey if the offence is of sufficient seriousness

Blackmail is the more serious charge of the two and that is the one I comment about in the above paragraph

To the ordinary Joe public the issue of perverting the course of justice does seem an area that is OK, for one class, and not for another class
,As we have repeatedly seen, over the past recent years,
It does help to overcome this charge if, you have the money clout,
I always thought that to pervert the course of justice what we, the British people live by, THE LAW.and that punishment should be severe equally for all who engage in the practise.

Yes, but it could get pushed up to Crown Court. The penalty is a sentence inside. Don't do it.

If i were the judge,you would get 10 years inside at hard labour.!!!
