What makes you think they are all Christian? In Inuyasha there is Shintoism and almost everyone is Japanese, in Trinity Blood there is Catholicism, and there is a black character in Bleach, and Yoruichi in Bleach is definitely not white.

Um... this is just you seeing anime filtered through the eyes of a westerner... (whether that be western europe or americas...).
First let's examine the claim of anime characters being christian. Well, sure there are SOME series where some characters are displayed as being Christian. HOWEVER, for the large majority of series, it is left completely ambigious to which religion (if any) the characters follow. Actually, the LARGEST percentage of religious influence in anime comes in the form of Shrine Maidens- priests and priestesses tending over temples and doing ceremonies, and maybe some exorcisms. This is definitely NOT Christian.
And as far as everyone being white? That's just baloney. What about anime characters make you classify them as white? Because they are drawn with really light/white skin? Japanese people are VERY fair skinned as well. Is it because characters like Naruto have blonde hair and blue eyes? The only time you see characters having more western coloring in their hair and eyes is when there are also other characters in the series who have IMPOSSIBLE coloring (like Sakura's natural pink hair in Naruto).
If you look at a series where everyone has realistic coloring, you see all the characters will have dark brown or black hair- exactly like the Japanese. The exception is of course if there is some sort of exchange student, or if it is dyed.
If you ask any asian, they don't see these characters as being caucasion- they identify them as being asian/Japanese as well.
The reason that most of these characters are fair skinned however, is because Japan is a very homolgous place. Only like .1% of the population is black. That's less than 1 in 1000 people, and lets not even get into the numbers of people of people who have like a Mexican (or similar) racial coloring... So it makes sense that Japan makes series with characters that reflect the overwhelming majority of their population- when that is the original target of anime.

there are quite a few who are not white and/or Christian. And it really doesn't matter who is or isn't. It's a cartoon. It's not made to be scientifically accurate. it's fiction
Examples:
(disrgarding all anime not based in Japan)
Samurai Champloo: Jin
Prince of Tennis: Most of the team
Inuyasha: Kagome, Sango, Miroku, Bankotsu, Kikyo
Blood+: Saya
Bleach: Chad, Yoruichi
Hotaru no Haka: Most of the characters
Fruits Basket: Shigure
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Haruhi
Ouran High School Host Club: Kyouya, Mori
Nana: Nana, Takumi, Ren
etc.

How many anime have you watch so far? I think it's because Asia has always been heavily influenced by US and Europe. Especially the younger generations now. Of course most mangakas and animators in Japan are young or the older ones trying to stay in trend. So, of course the "white" and "Catholic" influence could also be seen in anime.
Anime historically really started after the Walt Disney influence.
But it's also a false statement to say if everyone or even most of them are white and christian, because there's a lot of anime that's not white nor christian

who's Christian? Quatre Rebarba Winner from gundam Wing is Arab is most likely to be a Muslim, Miroku from InuYasha's a Buddhist, Edward Elric, Colonel Mustang, are Athiests, Heero Yuy's an Athiest, i don't think there are any Christian characters in Anime, as for everyone being white, Japanese are white or tanned, if you watch other anime that are not set in Japan like DBZ (althou Japanese cultured) or Blood+, there are black characters.

Let see here...You said EVERY ANIME?
Dragonball Z:
- Goku is not white, and defintely not christian
- Mr. Popo is defintely not white
Black Lagoon:
- Dutch is not white. In his BIO it states that he is African-American...is that white? Color-blind?
Afro-Samuari: pretty sure there aren't many white characters there
I think the reason you're seeing characters as "white" is because most of the characters have a lighter skin tone. This is done to save money on animation. It would cost a lot more money to have darker skinned characters.
With those two examples I have proven your statement/question wrong.
Have a nice day and try harder if you're going to out smart me next time.
