My wife is looking to attend the NYU Nursing program but she never took the SATs. She has her GED but is unsure about the process. Does anyone have any idea how best I may be able to help her with this?

She can contact the local high school, and find out how to take the SAT test. She may have to pay to take it, but I don't think it's a huge charge to do so - maybe $50? That's just a tiny cost of what she'll pay for tuition if she goes to college.

Your wife will think you are extra smart if you call the college and pretend it's you who is wanting to enroll. Get all the info about the entrance exams and fees for taking them, dates to register for the upcoming semesters, etc. Then, present all the information to your wife. She'll be relived and happy that she doesn't have to do the grunt work of making the call and writing things down. Then, help her prepare for the exams. They're not hard, usually you have to write an essay which is about your opinion-- just use correct grammar and whole sentences. Then the math, that will be easy. If she doesn't do well she can always take remedial math. Then the verbal-- she knows how to talk, and I bet she reads sometimes, so she will do fine on it. Word definitions are on there, and answering questions based on the context, etc.

You'll do great!

It all depends if your wife has been out of high school for more than 10 years they won't require scores but she'll have to take placement tests.

I dont think its required anymore. But go to the college's website which should tell you which days there are tests done for the SAT's.

Do they require an SAT score? Contact the admissions office and find out.

Your wife will have to take the college placement test. When she enrolls she will be appointed to a guidance counselor, they will be able to guide you through the process.
